Rati Pandey (11 September 1982) is an Indian television actress who is popularly known as Hitler Didi by the audience. Rati was highly appreciated for her double role in Zee TV's celebrated show Hitler Didi which made her won many awards. In Hitler Didi, Rati gained tremendous name and fame for the role of Indira Sharma who was a strict disciplinarian, an independent woman with no nonsense attitude and the role of encounter specialist Zara Malik Khan, the dabang female cop. Rati's first breakthrough was the role of Nupur Bhushan, a young bubbly, chirpy character in the Star One's college romance show Miley Jab Hum Tum in 2008. She is also known for her work in Zee TV's show Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai and Star One's. Shaadi Street. Rati hails from Patna, Bihar.
Rati started her career as a participant in a singing reality show Idea Zee Cinestars ki Khoj, 2006. Rati also acted in many music albums during her initial days of career. She also made her episdodic appearances in Sony TV's crime based thriller C.I.D, Sahara One's horror show Raat Hone ko Hai . Rati also claims to have done two South Indian Movies, one of them was a telgu movie "Student". She also worked as a junior artist in Sanjay Dutt's starrer Lagey raho munna bhai. Besides this Rati also appeared in some TV commercials of Champions Appliances.
Her first offer was from Ajai Sinha Show but that didn't work out.After this, Rati debuted her television career with Deepti Bhatnagar's Shaadi Street on Star One in which she played the lead role of "Nandini". She also played the lead role of "Prarthna Thakraal", a typical ideal bahu in Zee TV's show Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai produced by Shreya Creations.
In 2008, she got the Most Remarkable Role of her Career - "Nupur Bhushan" in the show Miley Jab Hum Tum (jointly produced by Endemol and Sunshine Productions). Nupur was bubbly, fashion enthusiastic and loved Hindi Bollywood Flick. A Character which is close to the Real Rati. And she hit the Fame Instantly. Its her Chemistry with her Co-Star Arjun Bijlani aka Mayank that made them the Household Name today. And today apart from being Rati Pandey, she's also known as "Nupur Bhushan Sharma". Other than immense popularity and success Rati also gained a strong group of loyal fans with this show. There was a time when production house decided to end the most popular character of the show that is Nupur, to create a hype and increase the ratings. But unfortunately it didn't work and channel was bombarded with calls and letters by fans to bring the character of Nupur back in the show. The production house was left with no other option other than bringing her back. Rati was brought back within 2 months due to huge fan demand.
After Miley Jab Hum Tum, Rati participated in dance reality show Nachle Ve with Saroj Khan and Terence on NDTV Imagine where she got to showcase her dancing skills in front of great dancing choreographers Saroj Khan and Terence Lewis. She also participated in a travel based reality show on Star Plus called Ritz Jee Le Ye Pal.
In 2010, Rati was offered the role of Hitler Didi by producer Ila Bedi Dutta(Trilogy Krikos) which was inspired by Rekha's role in the movie jeevan dhaara and Rati immediately accepted it because she wanted to do something very different and opposite to what she played in her previous shows which is the reason she rejected many offers of similar roles from big production houses and channels. The role of Hitler Didi was a turning point in her career as it gave her individual recognition in television industry. Many actors only get to explore 1-2 characters in their show, but Rati Pandey is among the very few who had the opportunity to showcase her versatility among 5 different characters and do a double role. From a strict disciplinarian, "Indira Sharma" to an encounter specialist "Zara Malik Khan" to a mentally challenged patient Indira(the character inspired by Priyanka Chopra's character from the movie Barfi), to a villain psychotic lover Zara, Rati has enacted all of them. With this show, she got the opportunity to work with various famous Bollywood and television celebrities like Vidya Balan, Ranbir Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Navneet Nishan, Rohit Roy, Mrunal Jain, Abhinav Shukla, Sumit Vats.
Apart from daily soaps, Rati also made her special appearances in some reality shows like Laughter Ke Phatke and Zara Nachke Dikha on Star One, Sab TV's show Movers and Shakers(Hosted by Shakher Suman) , Colors TV's Bigg Boss- 6 Grand Finale (Hosted by Salman Khan), Sony TV's Comedy Circus.
